Hardcore(硬心)- 是一種文化而唔止係音樂,係因為這是內心對忽略道德的主流資本及物質主義社會的對抗所出發的。所以Hardcore的中文叫硬心是貼切因為是內心的對抗。
Emocore -Emocore係由hardcore演變而黎既,而且將hardcore變得更加精緻同動聽, 又叫做post hardcore。Emo音樂走向前衛, 充滿住複雜既吉他彈法同編曲、噪音及爆發力, 歌詞充滿著個人內心既感受, 仲有比較具有自省,同hardcore充滿政治批判既歌詞好唔同。
Emo-Punk - 比較著重旋律的punk,音樂上同pop-punk略為相似,但並非主流,還有些可叫melodic hardcore。
Punk -音樂定義可以係反政府,儀容不整,不著重花巧、技巧的音樂
